Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited (IDPIL) Scholarship And Bursary Scheme 2024

 

In its bid to promote peaceful and prosperous community through qualitative and functional education, the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited is instituting a scholarship/bursary scheme to provide education support to indigenes and residents student of the Division schooling in various public tertiary institutions across Nigeria. The goal is to encourage an enviable performance and academic excellence, capable of engendering a human development hub and investment growth for the future of the Ikorodu division.

Beyond the promotion of higher quality education and human resources hub for the division, the need to also support indigent students in the pursuit of their education especially considering the harsh reality of post-COVID-19 and the excruciating global economic slump which has undermined the capacity of many parents to cope with the educational demand of their children and by implication resulting in several children dropping out of school and becoming vulnerable to crime, cultism and hooliganism. It is against this background, that the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited Scholarship/Bursary scheme is instituting an educational support to the youth demography as intervention to forestall the above stated challenges.

Scholarship/Bursary Categories

There are three categories of the IDPIL Scholarship/Bursary Scheme. The scholarship, Bursary 1 and Bursary II.

The “Scholarship scheme” is based on Excellent Academic performance and it is open to indigenes and residents across the division. The Value of this scholarship is Two hundred Thousand Naira (N200, 000:00) annually covering the duration of his or her programme. An aptitude test and Oral interview will be conducted to further confirm the suitability of applicants for the award.

The second category is the “Bursary 1” which is also based on Academic performance and is open to Indigenes and Residents. The Value is One Hundred Thousand Naira only = (100,000; 00). It can only be enjoyed for a single academic session. The third category is the Bursary 2” which is exclusively for indigent indigenes of the division who are having financial difficulty in pushing through their education. Its value is Fifty Thousand Naira only = (50,000; 00). It can only be enjoyed for a single academic session.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1.    Applicant must be a full-time student in any of the public tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.
2.    Must be from 200 Level (2nd year) and above with a verifiable CGPA
3.    Must provide proof of Indigeneship (Letter of identification from a recognized Oba and Local               Government/LCDA). Residents he/she must submit Lagos State Residents Registration Agency           (LASSRA) card as proof.
4.    Must attach the copy of his/her Academic profile duly signed by the University Registrar or the               HOD of his/her Department.
5.    Applicants cannot apply for scholarship and bursary at the same time. Both attract separate                   applications. Anyone found to have been involved in double registration stands disqualified.
6.    There are three types of educational support which the students can apply for under this initiative.
  • Scholarship Scheme,
  • Bursary 1
  • Bursary 2.
7.    Application for the “Scholarship scheme” is based on Excellent Academic performance and it is           open to indigenes and residents. Students applying for this scheme must be of good Academic               standing, not less than Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.5 or First Class for               Universities and Distinction for Polytechnics, Monotechnics and College of Educations                       respectively. This award is tenured and will be enjoyed annually by the student until the completion        of his/her programme. The value of this award is Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000:00).           While a background check on documents submitted by applicants shall be conducted, Aptitude test        and Oral interview will also be employed to further confirm the suitability of applicants for the               award.
8.    Application for the “Bursary 1” is based on Academic performance and it is open to Indigenes and        Residents. Students applying for this scheme must be of good Academic standing, not less than           Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 or Second class Upper Division for                       Universities  and Upper Credit for Polytechnics, Monotechnics and College of Educations                   respectively. This award is not tenured, it can only be enjoyed one-off. A background check on               documents submitted  by applicants shall be conducted.
 9.    Application for the “Bursary 2” is exclusively for indigent indigenes who are having financial            difficulty in pushing through their education. Although, no academic grade is required for this                application, an applicant should possess not less than Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of         2.50 or lower credit. This award is not tenured, it can only be enjoyed once-off. Only indigenes            should apply for this category of bursary. A background check on the applicants shall be                        conducted.

  1. Academic Profile duly signed by the University Registrar or your Head of Department
  2. Letter of identification from recognized Oba and Proof of Identification letter from the Local Government (For Indigenes)
  3. Proof of residence-LASSRA (For residents)
  4. Any other supporting documents
